Universal Orlando: A Park-to-Park Guide

Whether it’s your first or third time heading to Universal Orlando, we recommend taking some time to plan your trip in advance. There’s an endless number of things to do and see at this adventure park. Keep reading to find out what’s in store when you visit Universal Orlando.

Universal Orlando Parks

Universal Studios Orlando

If you love a cult classic or blast from the past, then Universal Studios is the park for you. As you step onto this movie lot, you’ll be reminded of fan favorites such as Back to the Future, E.T., Men in Black, and even the Simpsons. Whether you’re a Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, this park will also transport you to the Wizarding World with Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, located in Diagon Alley. If you’re feeling thirsty, you can always pick up some Butterbeer… Good luck choosing between all 6 different kinds. Yum!

Islands of Adventure

As you hop on to Hogwarts Express, you can make your way to Universal Islands of Adventure. With your wand in one hand and Butterbeer in the other, you’ll find yourself in Hogsmeade. Here, you can hop on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure or catch a show at Hogwarts castle. If you’re looking for another cinematic universe, the Marvel Super Hero Island is right next door. From Hulk to Spiderman, there are plenty of attractions to spike your adrenaline.

Oh, and do you like green eggs and ham? Don’t forget to stop by Seuss Landing with your Thing Ones and Twos.

Volcano Bay

We all know Florida can get hot. Sometimes it calls for a pool day. Inspired by the Pacific Isles, Universal’s Volcano Bay gives you the chance to soak in both adventure and relaxation. This water resort includes over 21 attractions, a 200-foot volcano, and plenty of cabanas. With a system known as TapuTapu, you’ll be able to virtually hold your place in line for any attraction while you explore with your friends and family. If you’re staying overnight, the Universal’s Cabana Bay Resort offers rooms comfortably fitting up to six guests and is perfect for big families.

Where to Stay

After a fun-filled day, you’ll definitely need a place to take a nice long catnap. While Universal Orlando offers many places to stay, they recently opened two new hotels, Dockside Inn and Suites and Surfside Inn and Suites. With only a 5 to 10-minute shuttle ride from the parks, each resort features a different theme with easy access to the heart of Orlando. As a bonus, Universal Orlando also offers various exclusive benefits to resort guests, such as Early Park Admissions. Did we mention they’re close to Universal City Walk as well?

Universal City Walk

Universal City Walk features an endless array of restaurant options including Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, Hard Rock Café, Pat O’Brien’s, and more. For a more kid-friendly environment, you can satisfy your sweet tooth at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium or get a little bit of everything at The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar.

P.S. There’s free self-parking at City Walk for all guests after 6 p.m. Just in time for dinner!

No matter what size of family you have, Universal Orlando offers something for everyone. With a little planning and a lot of fun, this park will make for a memorable family vacation.
