Walt Disney World Updates: Newest Happenings and Upcoming Events

There’s always something new on the horizon at Walt Disney World, and exciting things are in store for visitors in 2021. While a visit to the Disney parks is still not the usual pre-pandemic experience, there’s plenty to look forward to and new attractions coming our way in the near future. Today we’re going to share with you some of the most anticipated events that you can expect to see over the next few months in Walt Disney World.

Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Arts

This Epcot festival is quickly becoming one of the most popular events of the annual calendar, and while it won’t be quite the same as previous years, it’s bound to add even more fun to your day in Epcot. Running from January 8th to February 22nd, 2021, this festival showcases artists and their work throughout Future World and World Showcase. As with the other Epcot festivals, you’ll enjoy strolling around the World Showcase and enjoying unique menu items from the booths that are specifically created for this festival.

New Attractions

If you’ve been to the parks in the last year or so, you’ve probably seen that there’s plenty of construction going ahead, particularly in Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. We’re extremely excited for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which was delayed due to the events of 2020. Our fingers are crossed that we get an opening date soon, as this will be a fantastic addition to the France pavilion in Epcot. Testing has begun for Harmonious, which is the new nighttime spectacular in Epcot’s World Showcase, and we can’t wait for fireworks to light up the sky again each night. Heading into 2022, Disney fans are excited for the openings of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in Epcot and the Tron Lightcycle Power Run in the Magic Kingdom.

Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival

While full details are yet to be announced about the 2021 festival, this is one of our favorite times to visit Epcot each year, thanks to the stunning topiaries and floral displays that are present throughout the park. Enjoy sampling the various food and drink offerings around the park, and enjoy some of the additional entertainment offerings that are put on for this event. Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival begins in March each year and runs until June.

October 1st 2021 marks the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Walt Disney World resort and the Magic Kingdom park. While full details have yet to be released for what we can expect for this momentous occasion’s celebration, if it’s anything like previous big anniversaries, it’s bound to be a fun time to visit the parks. If you are hoping to be in the parks on October 1st, I’d recommend booking your vacation as soon as possible. With the current park reservation system, it’s important to get booked in soon, especially if you are planning to be in the Magic Kingdom or Epcot on that day.

There’s always something new and exciting to look forward to when planning your next trip to Walt Disney World. Are you planning to be in Walt Disney World for the 50th Anniversary?
